About
I really like to help people beat standardized tests (ACT,SAT,GRE) and helping others understand Physics, Chemistry and Math in general. It's not enough to understand material, but to communicate you have to understand others. I feel really happy when I get to do that!
I think it's wonderful that there are parts of Nature that we can understand and predict. Anyone can learn about it and see the world for what it is, and I love being a part of that.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Most important thing is to do problems. I'm just there to see where folks get stuck or misunderstand and then I try to help them see and "get it". It's usually pretty minor misunderstandings or sometimes there's just tricks you can tell yourself to pass.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I used to be an apprentice scientist and have done well at school in the past. I used to work on synthetic biology measurements, computational chemistry, and had a brief stint as a materials scientist for batteries. I have a few publications and some of my own personal thoughts if you want to see!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I'll do $30/hr if online or we meet somewhere halfway at a cafe or library. If out to home that's a bit out the way I would ask for $40/hr.
How did you get started teaching?
I've done some personal tutoring for family friends before when I was in high school. I did some volunteer work as well. They also have us teach college students while we're apprenticing and grade their classwork. I saved my past reviews if you want to make sure I'm not a mean teacher ;)
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds, I've worked with students who were on scholarship or using LINK for tutoring hours. I've also worked with private school kids. The more you do this, the more you realize people are the same and we're all just trying to learn.
