Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically when working with a new student I like to find out what they already know by asking several probing questions to determine level of understanding. I also like to know what type of learner the student is and I tailor my teaching style accordingly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a sophomore studying Bioengineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Bioengineering is a cross-disciplinary field by nature which means I am constantly putting to use the concepts that I teach on a regular basis every single day. Bioengineering requires conceptual understanding of Statistics, Organic Chemistry, Mechanics/Electromagnetism, Computer Science, Linear Algebra/Differential Equations, and Molecular and Cellular Biology. This makes it very easy to quickly refresh concepts in any subject area regardless of how long ago I learned it.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
