Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask a lot of questions about the student's math background, their best method of learning, and what they would like to accomplish in our working together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have several degrees in mathematics and taught high school math in the past. With my current full time role I am the math expert when a math online course needs to be developed.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing ranges on the subject (based on the amount I need to prep) as well as the number of times you would like to meet.
Average prices range from $30 - $50 per hour.
Feel free to contact me for a guestimate price range based upon your needs.
How did you get started teaching?
I've been involved in some form or fashion of education since 1990! I've always had an ability to explain complex topics in simple terms.
Please note that I did at one time have a teaching license for K-12 but that expired when I left the classroom some time ago. My expertise is still in math.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught/tutored 6 - 12, college, and adult learners.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I'm a Board Member for Crossing Borders, a nonprofit organization that specializes in giving voice to music of underrepresented groups (such as African American, Cambodian, Bahai', etc). At the last concert I was priviledged to act as the usher and the one to introduce the Executive Director, who plays the cello. Listening to the music was incredible.
