My name is Jim Taylor, and I have been teaching middle school and high school math for 30 years. However, my journey into teaching mathematics was a challenging one. In middle school and high school, I struggled with mathematics. I never had that “one teacher” who could motivate me and give me the confidence to succeed. Eventually, with sustained effort and study, I was able to succeed in math. I believe that my personal history in math, I understand when a student says, “I don’t get it”. This drives me to build on each individual's understanding and to share mathematical knowledge and problem-solving skills in order to gain improved understanding. Everyone can succeed, and many will thrive in mathematics. I am here to support all abilities in the subject of mathematics. Whether you are struggling with basic concepts or looking to excel in advanced topics, I am here to support your journey to success.
