Hi! My name is Madison Dixon and I am a Coeur D Alene native. I graduated from Coeur D Alene Charter Academy in 2019 and from Spokane Community College with my AS in Radiology Technology in 2022! I am currently working as a Rad Tech at Northwest Specialty Hospital so tutoring is only part-time. I am Available on a Bi-Weekly Basis and would love to help out as many future students as I can. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to figure out what classes they are passionate about and where they are struggling. I believe that these two things can be connected!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Highschool Diploma from Coeur D Alene Charter Academy and I'm continuing my education at Spokane Community College!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students in Middle School, Highschool, and College! I believe that my age makes me a good candidate because a lot of subjects are fresh in my brain and well understood!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Reach out and asks questions! I think that the hardest part about not understanding something is asking for help! This is something I struggled with myself for a long time. It took help from my friends to realize that sometimes all you need is a little push and you just need to ask!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I like to be given examples, if you are struggling with a certain type of math problem I would like them to have it ready with them. I don't expect to be teaching these students the entire lecture. I expect my students to come prepared with certain questions/confusions that we can go over.
