About
Dr. Bomb here! (Short for Dr. Bombardier)
I am a Ph.D. in mathematics who:
- Has formal training and understanding in the psychology of learning
- Performs research in mathematics education
- Has 12+ year experience in teaching
- Is part of national groups dedicated toward the improvement of mathematics education
You'll find that my approach to teaching and tutoring are the same: to help you *understand* why mathematics works the way it does. No one was able to explain to you why in the world (-1) * (-1) = 1? Ever find memorizing the unit circle confusing and cumbersome? (I myself don't have the unit circle *memorized*, but I rather understand how it works.)
My approach to tutoring is to use research-based methods to help you learning because learning happens in *your own mind*.
I've had students in the past tell me math is so much more exciting when it actually makes sense. So hearing these things makes me very excited and happy. I really want my students to really understand what is going on and allow them to remember and apply the mathematics they are learning.

How did you get started teaching?
I actually started teaching as a freshmen in university. I started teaching physics labs in my second year of undergrad as a student. I have been teaching ever since!
