Harvest Christian Daycare is the only child care facility in Cedar Rapids that also offers on-site tutoring. The Academy of Tutoring at Harvest Christian Daycare provides a setting in which children, youth, college students and adults can receive individualized academic tutoring. We provide quality education for students in a focused learning environment. We will tailor the tutoring to fit each student's specific needs and teach in ways each student learns best.
We offer a FREE consultation! During this consultation, your questions will be answered, you will share about your child's specific academic needs and we will interview your child as well. After this free consultation, we will create a success plan specifically tailored to your child. There are also no obligations for you. Other tutoring services charge around $100 for this service, but we want to meet your needs in an efficient and easy way for you, and for your child.
Rachel Thomsen is the Lead Teacher for the Academy of Tutoring. Several years ago, Rachel started her own tutoring business. Since then the Lord put it on her heart to come and help the Academy of Tutoring to launch. She has been the main tutor since we started in 2013, and continues to teach and oversee the tutoring program. Rachel is a certified teacher with a bachelor's degree in Secondary English Teaching from the University of Northern Iowa (2006). She also has a Masters in Education and a Secondary Reading Endorsement from Viterbo University (2009). Rachel loves working with children and finding ways to teach to fit each child's needs.
