Fisher Math Tutoring
About
I am currenlty employed as a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Minnesota and have worked as a structural engineer now for 5 years. I hold a BS in Civil Engineering and a MS in Civil Engineering with a structural background from the University of Iowa that I attended from 2012-2017 on scholarship as a football player. The extent of my mathematics background extends through Differential Equations and I am looking to give back to the community by helping children, teens, and young adults in need of math tutoring.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically have a sit down meeting with the parents of the child/teen or young adult to address their tutoring needs and what extent of services they are looking for. Students will send their notes/class materials prior to a tutoring session for review along with any homework they are needing help with. I can then comprise a lesson hitting the important points of the work in a comprehensive manner for the appropriate ages.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a BS & MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa and have been a practicing professional engineer licensed in the state of MN for 5+ years now. My mathematics schooling background extends through Differential Equations and I continue to work with high level mathematics and design on a daily basis
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am fairly flexible on pricing given the financial background of the student/family
How did you get started teaching?
I began by helping fellow students in college and high school. Since beginning my professional career, I have been an ACE (Architectural, Construction, and Engineering) mentor for high school students interested in the prior mentioned fields. Mathematics has always come easy to me and I was always happy to share that knowledge with others in need.
What types of students have you worked with?
Mainly college and high school students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who is able to explain concepts well. Math may be easy to someone, but that doesn't always mean they can adequately explain it to someone.
