I work with students to get them to understand the material. I work mostly in math and I strive to break material down in a memorable way that students will be able to apply to general problems in a group, rather than specific, preprepared problems.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I try to see where the student is at. It's important to not overwhelm students when trying to grow, as that could erode what was already learned. Concepts must be explained in ways that are digestible, yet effective
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've taken up to Calculus 2 at my previous college, and my professor was so impressentially that he wanted me to switch to being some flavor of math major
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I start at $45 an hour, but depending on the course and other factors, the rate may be higher.
How did you get started teaching?
I got stated a year ago when my math teacher introduced me to his sister, as her son needed a math tutor. He was struggling in certain areas, but once you explained something to him in the ways he could understand and gave him good examples, he held on to the topic and could tackle that topic with no further problems.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Hire a teacher who is willing to go at your own pace, but will challenge you when you need it.
