RETIRED UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR................................. LOW COST HOME TUTORING FOR YOUR CHILD............ LOW FEES FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Student learning is more important to me than hourly fees. I am happy to provide home tutoring for school age children at a nominal cost if transportation is provided. Please keep in mind that younger children do better with shorter but more frequent sessions.
I have much experience helping students improve communication skills with both spoken and written English. My bachelor's and master's degrees are in Communication, and I have a PhD in Education from the University of Missouri. I am retired from the State University of New York with nearly 25 years of teaching experience.
Specific improvement areas include:
1. Spoken English
Conversational skills, listening and note taking, vocabulary and pronunciation.
2. Written English
Spelling, sentence and paragraph structure, grammar, essay formats, proof reading and editing.......... UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: Online assistance with research and term papers, theses and dissertations. Tutoring to improve college level essay writing, note taking, study skills, and test performance. Assistance preparing for specific exams.
3. Research and Presentations
Using key words to research topics, evaluating source materials, citing reference sources (APA and MLA styles), preparing and delivering oral presentations.
My goal is to help students improve their English communication skills in a way that will enhance academic performance. Tutoring sessions will provide the opportunity to practice and apply English communication skills using grade appropriate learning materials and assignments, incorporating school lessons and home work assignments when possible.
