I have been here for about a week now and I have already seen my grades improve in Language Arts. I am enrolled in an Advanced Reading program and I recently got an A on my Language Arts project and another A on my midterm. What's most important to me is that I actually enjoy coming to The Tutoring Center. There's a friendly environment and the instructors are helping me become a better student.
The Tutoring Center is not only helpful, but also helped catch me up on my homework. My math average jumped from a 63 to a low B in just 3 months. The schedule here is also very flexible and the tutors here are friendly and willing to help.
One key factor that attracted me to this location is their flexibility with their tutoring hours. I love that I can finish school, come to the Tutoring Center and study for my upcoming test, brush up on things I have trouble with, or even get ahead of my class and still have the rest of the day to do what I want! The instructors are friendly and passionate, they motivate me to do my best, and they all show me different approaches and techniques to solving the same math problem. I love how there is a free Diagnostic Assessment that helps measure where I am, so that I do not get anything that's too easy, but also nothing that's too hard for me. I love the individualized notebooks with just what I need to succeed :) The plus side is, learning and doing well can help me get candy, toys, and prizes with the grab-bags that we get for coming in on time or even doing well in our three content sections. Overall, a very helpful system, with amazing instructors, and perfect timings! I'm really thankful for all they've done for me.
I've had the best time at The Tutoring Center since I joined a couple of years ago. I joined the Tutoring Center to help me with my reading comprehension and writing skills, including essay composition and grammar. By the end of my Reading program I had improved two whole grade levels and was also doing better in school. Once I started high school, I had trouble with Algebra, so I switched to the Math program. The instructors showed me different ways to approach the same math problem, and still arrive at the same answer. I finally understood WHY I was doing it, instead of just HOW to do it. I have now completed the Math program and I am one year ahead of my class. I have had a fun experience here, have gotten close to all my tutors, and would highly recommend it to anyone who needs extra help.
The first step is our process is to administer a free Diagnostic Assessment so we can identify how we can best help each student. The assessment we use is the Kaufman Test of Educational Achievement, the foremost test used by school counselors and placement specialists. It gives us an accurate idea of how a student is performing compared to his/her grade level. Once we have the results, we invite the parents to review the scores and our program recommendations. If you think our program is a good fit, we can then discuss enrollment. The entire process can be done within a day, so we can get your tutoring started as soon as possible!
My background is in the field of education. I have two Masters degrees, in both Teaching and Education. I have also been trained and certified by The Tutoring Center, and have three years of experience as a classroom teacher.
We do not have a standard pricing system per lesson, but we do have a monthly rate of $299 (promotional rate for this season). If this is not what you are looking for, please call to ask how we can structure a plan that works for you. We also offer additional incentives for long-term tutoring. Our SAT/ACT prep programs are priced on an hourly basis.
I've always been committed to helping students succeed. When I transitioned from being a school teacher to tutoring, I spent time researching different tutoring centers and models. I was very impressed with The Tutoring Center's model and its student-centered approach. I strongly believe in our method and philosophy. Over the past couple of years, I have seen our system in action and have seen dozens of students improve at exceptional rates. With this experience, I can fully and honestly stand by The Tutoring Center's programs.
Our students range from grades K-12, and work with us for different reasons. Some students are struggling with their current grade level and need help building their academic skills to catch up to grade level. Other students are enrolled in Enrichment programs because they are working to ahead of their current grade level. Our methods also work very well for students who learn differently. Whether a child has ADHD or a learning disability, our system is designed to work for all types of styles and needs.
