I also like to meet with you as the parent to discuss your concerns and goals for your child prior to the first session.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
When I taught virtually, I had a student that would get up from the computer and cry when I asked her to read. We later found out that she had reading difficulties and I made a plan that helped her feel successful and meet grade level expectations.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would suggest to the student, as well as the parent, to select a teacher that you feel comfortable with and that will help you meet your learning goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would suggest to the child and parent that they know the area that they would like help in. Also, to know what schedule works best for them according to the day and time per week. I would also suggest to determine which time and day your child learns best. For example, my son has ADHD and does better with tutoring before 7 PM.
