I am currently an IB Diploma Program English Language and Literature and Theory of Knowledge teacher. I am also the IB Diploma Coordinator and Extended Essay Coordinator at my school. I am also an examiner for English with the IB, and I teach middle school English.
I have taught English literature in grades 6-12 for 8 years. I can also teach history and other humanities.
I have a Master's degree in Education. I am certified to teach English 6-12 in Florida and have 9 workshop certificates from the IB.
My IB English students get top results on exams and assessments. As a coordinator and examiner, I know what the IB is looking for.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As an IB English teacher with 7 years of teaching experience and 4 years as an examiner, I know how to get top results. My students have scored above the world average every year. I am also an IB Diploma Coordinator, so I know all aspects of the Diploma Program.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's in Education from Indiana University. I also have 9 IB workshop certificates in various subjects.

How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching English as a Second Language in Korea in 2001. Since then, I have taught in Japan, the Philippines, and currently Indonesia. I began teaching international school in 2008.
What types of students have you worked with?
Since I have lived in Asian countries for the past 19 years, I have worked mostly with Asian students. For the past 8 years, I have taught middle and high school students in an IB school.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My group of seniors that graduated last year earned top results and went to some outstanding universities.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
As a student, I would look for someone who is experienced, passionate, and dedicated.

Students should think about their goals and have a plan for success before hiring a tutor.
