What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start with a diagnostic assessment of the student's skills. Then, we personalize a plan for improving/advancing the student, and we recommend a certain number of hours and a certain lenth of times (# of months).
In tutoring, we work with 3 students per tutor, or sometimes one-on-one, if needed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our director and founder, Trina Scott, is an MIT graduate.
How did you get started teaching?
Our director was concerned about the students' college options. She wanted to make sure that each student had as many options as possible open to them when they graduated high school.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We helped a student pass his GRE. He had been trying for quite some time, and after working with Wings of Knowledge, he obtained the necessary scores to go to his desired grad school. Now, he is traveling the world.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a tutor in your area of expertise?
Look for someone knowledgeable and patient but that will also hold you accountable.
