Tino was the best tutor that Ive ever worked with. during all of our sessions he was always encouraging, made sure to answer all questions, and got you involved in the lesson. Math has always been my weakest subject and a subject I didnt have much confidence in. However, after each session with Tino I started to gain confidence in the subject. If it hadnt been for Tinos encouragement and support I dont think I wouldve been able to pass statistics.

I think he did a very great job. He asked me a lot of questions, and he broke down the stuff that I didnt understand. Sometimes, he might have worked out the problems before I could answer them myself, but overall he did great.

    Frequently asked questions

I like to see how a new student works by working on their latest homework or a diagnostic practice test together. I let them show me what they know and their style to then tailor my approach for the long-term with that student. Building rapport is also crucial to make it easier for both parties to work together. Moreover, I always ask my students to send me their materials at least 24-hours before the lesson. This really helps me tailor a bespoke lesson for the student that aligns well with their in-class experience.
I graduated with a Master's in Data Sciences program (Ranked #3 Globally) from CentraleSupélec and ESSEC Business School in Paris, France in 2022 and a Bachelor's in Business Administration program from Emory University (Ranked #20 College in the U.S.) in Atlanta, GA in 2017. In 2023, I will begin the Master's in Economics program (Ranked #23 Globally) at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra/Barcelona School of Economics in Barcelona, Spain. Ultimately, my goal professionally is to get a PhD in Economics, with a focus in Education and Development Economics, in order to do research related to this field. Mathematics has always come naturally to me and I constantly work on improving my theoretical and practical knowledge in all fields of mathematics. I believe it is my Economics/Business edge that helps me explain complicated topics in a way that is approachable and demystifying.
Most tutoring is as the price is indicated in the ad for each hour. For a 10% discount on the hourly rate, a student may purchase a 10-hour package. Last-minute tutoring requires a greater deal of preparation and work on my part since I have not been working with that student the entire semester/school year. For that reason, cram tutoring has a surcharge of 30%.
Back in the day, I was only in early high school and I randomly decided to post that I was offering Algebra lessons on CraigList. At the time, I was in Pre-Calculus in 10th grade and my first student was an retired Military officer who wanted to get through his College Algebra class. After I saw positive results with him, it has since been a passion of mine to tutor on the side. I genuinely enjoy helping students achieve their goals.
I've worked with students of all ages and levels of abilities. Here is a summary of the courses and their counts that I have tutored in: * Elementary School Math (x1) * Middle School Math (x1) * Algebra I and II and College Algebra (x16) * Geometry (x1) * Pre-Calculus (x1) * Calculus (x1) * IB Mathematics (SL and HL) (x3) * IB Economics (SL and HL) (x1) * AP or College-Level Statistics and Probability (x5) * SAT/ACT Math (x16)
One of my students this year contacted a bit too far into their course. They had a 30% in their College Statistics class. While their goal of passing seemed very slimmed, they recently told me that they passed after scoring high on the last two exams. It is moments like these that make my work worthwhile!
Make sure that the tutor's approach relates to the student's in-class experience. I've had many students and parents tell me that previous tutors were not making bespoke lessons and therefore the lessons were heavily misaligned to the student's classroom's requirements.
    1) What are your goals? 2) What materials do you have available to share with the tutor? 3) What are key dates coming up? 4) What is your learning style? 5) Find a tutor that makes you excited about the material!
