My service stands out in that I offer personalized services to equip learners with the individualized academic resources necessary to increase their intellectual capacity and critical thinking skills. I do not tutor to help learners memorize, rather I tutor to help learners achieve mastery.
I enjoy helping learners in whatever capacity they need. I enjoy helping enrich learners who are working above grade level and need a challenge. I enjoy helping struggling learners regain confidence and enjoy the learning process. I enjoy giving learners the tools necessary to be successful in school and in life. I am a certified teacher with eight years of experience and I enjoy using my skillset to enhance the educational lives of others.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student I like to first get to know the student. I then cater the methods I use in tutoring to match their interests and learning style. I give a pre-assessment to determine the level of the student and set goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified teacher with nine years of classroom experience and I have privately tutored since the age of 14. I received my undergraduate degree from Howard University and my Master’s degree from Mercer University. I am also a certified gifted teacher. I have over 0 hours of continued education.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The base price for lessons is $35/55 minutes. (Elementary School) I offer group sessions for 3-5 learners and the standard rate is $15/scholar for a 55 minute session.
How did you get started teaching?
I changed my major in undergrad after working with AmeriCorps for a summer. I thoroughly enjoyed helping students meet and achieve educational milestones as well as having a helping hand in shaping the future.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with gifted students as well as students working below grade level, and students on grade level. I have worked with students who have IEPs and special accommodations. I have worked with adults preparing to take the GED, GACE, and GRE.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone you are comfortable with.
