About
When I decided to leave the world of public education in 2018, I always knew that I would be leaving behind a passion: helping others learn. Tutoring helps bring back this joy and fulfillment.
I am a former American Literature and Composition teacher, but I also taught AP Language and Composition, Ninth Grade Literature and Composition, and Debate and Public Speaking. My students were all levels -- from collab classes with students who needed special education services to Advanced Placement classes with students who needed a leg-up in applying to colleges. In my five years as a teacher, I served as the team lead for the eleventh grade team and as a representative on our county's Literacy Leadership Team. My leadership experience is an indication of the trust that my colleagues and administrators placed in me.
Now, as an Admission Advisor for a top university in Atlanta, I bring a unique perspective as a tutor.
Teachers for students of all ages often talk about that lightbulb moment: the instant when a student's eyes spark with understanding. Their learning is tangible, and it serves as inspiration for us. This is my favorite part of teaching which is even more exciting in tutoring.
Many times, those seeking tutoring services haven't had that lightbulb moment recently. It's my goal to use all of the different tools in my toolbox to get to that moment and encourage some confidence!
