About

When I decided to leave the world of public education in 2018, I always knew that I would be leaving behind a passion: helping others learn. Tutoring helps bring back this joy and fulfillment.

I am a former American Literature and Composition teacher, but I also taught AP Language and Composition, Ninth Grade Literature and Composition, and Debate and Public Speaking. My students were all levels -- from collab classes with students who needed special education services to Advanced Placement classes with students who needed a leg-up in applying to colleges. In my five years as a teacher, I served as the team lead for the eleventh grade team and as a representative on our county's Literacy Leadership Team. My leadership experience is an indication of the trust that my colleagues and administrators placed in me.

Now, as an Admission Advisor for a top university in Atlanta, I bring a unique perspective as a tutor.

Teachers for students of all ages often talk about that lightbulb moment: the instant when a student's eyes spark with understanding. Their learning is tangible, and it serves as inspiration for us. This is my favorite part of teaching which is even more exciting in tutoring.

Many times, those seeking tutoring services haven't had that lightbulb moment recently. It's my goal to use all of the different tools in my toolbox to get to that moment and encourage some confidence!

Megan Lennox always went above and beyond for every student. She continuously made every student feel welcome, feel like they had a voice in the classroom, and never failed to put a smile on our face. Throughout school language arts has never been one of my top favorite subjects. I have never been one to like writing or reading but Megan Lennox would always turn any book that we had to read, writing piece, or project, into a fun and understandable learning experience. After taking her class I gained more of an appreciation for language arts and the beauty behind an authors work. Overall, the love that Megan Lennox had for her students was tremendous. I was given so much helpful feedback all throughout the school year that helped transform my writing and prepared me for the next year. Although that annotated bib project is one that I and other students will never forget, I still have that saved on my computer just in case Ill need it one day to look back on.
