About

As a student who has enjoyed being challenged through education, I am consistently looking for ways to improve learning experiences for other students. Obtaining a dual degree in Biology and Public Health from Brown University and pursuing an MD at Morehouse School of Medicine has made me passionate about leveraging personal assets, integrating multifaceted technological tools for learning, using weaknesses as a platform for improvement, and helping others in times of need. I hope to use my own personal lessons to help other students avoid mistakes I've made, adopt better study habits, and strengthen their confidence to tackle any academic and professional challenge.

My previous experiences have also made me open to college and post-graduate educational advisement. My extensive training in leadership, goal-setting, program management, and interpersonal skill-building allows me to provide relevant advice to bring your skills to the next level. I have experience with writing and editing personal statements, resume building, mock interviews, and even website development for brand management. I have worked with students to successfully navigate the medical school admissions process through the following tactics:

-Sharing Relevant Resources: MCAT Study Schedules, MCAT Books & Study Aids, MCAT Score Strategies

-Providing advice on application strategy: Discussing the nuances of the application process, building framework or "theme" for AMCAS applications, developing timelines and deadlines for the application process

-Editing & Revising: personal statements, extracurricular activity descriptions, etc.

In elementary school, I would charge other students $0.50 to organize their binders. This natural, innate trait of mine has helped leveraged my study and time management skills throughout my educational journey. Let me share important tools and build a platform that can help you establish and strengthen study skills through organizational techniques.

For 1-1 tutoring, please check the subjects that I am qualified to tutor for. I do offer trial sessions, where your first hour of tutoring is free. I do not offer trial sessions for advisement sessions (college admission, post-graduate admission, applications, organization, study tactics).

I am confident that I can help you reach your goals. I use evidence-based learning techniques that strive to ensure that your needs are at the center of your tutoring session. I personalize all tutoring sessions based on your learning style. Besides being your tutor, let me help you leverage your best self!

-Seeing YOU Improve & Grow

Frequently asked questions

The first thing I do when working with a new student is to gauge their learning style and knowledge level. I ask students to reflect on their favorite subjects or things they are passionate about. Upon reflection, I then ask what about them made it enjoyable or fun to learn about and then to reflect on how they learned based on learning styles: visual, auditory, linguistic, or kinesthetic. When assessing performance level, I would ask about previous grades, exams, and assessments and what the student thinks their main weaknesses are.

After learning more about previous experiences, I would proceed to ask about their goals for tutoring and their overall goals for the course. I would then ask the student at what level they are comfortable with me being integrated into their schoolwork. While I will not do homework for the student, I do want to know if they want lesson plans directly based off of schoolwork or if they need more help with conceptually learning difficult topics. Based on all of the student's input, they and I would set mutual goals and a rough timeline of future sessions, while also establishing dates to assess progress.
