About

It's been almost seven years since my first tutoring job, and getting my tutees to that "aha!" moment has never grown old. I have the grades and test scores to show that I know my stuff, but what makes me a great tutor is the way in which I communicate my knowledge to others.

I'm dedicated to providing students with high quality instruction that plays to their individual learning styles. I excel at breaking down complex concepts into easy-to-understand language, and I teach my students helpful tips for methodically getting to the right answer.

Qualifications:

- Wellesley College Graduate (Mathematics Major)

- Stanford Law School 0L

- Math department tutor (2 years)

- Calculus II teaching assistant (1 year)

- LSAT: 175

I love helping people get to that sense of self-satisfaction when they finally grasp a concept.

Frequently asked questions

First, I need some information about the student. What is their current level of understanding? This process might involve taking a practice test or working out some sample problems. I also want to know how they learn best. Are they a visual or auditory learner? Do they learn more when the focus is on instruction or completing examples?

Next, we make a game plan: Where do they want to be, and when? I want to help them set realistic goals and accomplish what they set out to do. This will produce an action schedule that we will follow throughout the course of the tutoring.

Finally, we jump in. I guide the student through lessons and activities from the action schedule, adjusting as we go along.

I have been trained to be both a tutor and a teaching assistant by the department that oversees academic tutoring at my college.

I just completed my bachelor's degree in Mathematics, and I have a lot of prior experience tutoring in various math subjects.

I self-studied for the LSAT in the summer after my sophomore year and achieved a 175 on my first try.

In general, I charge:

 - $30/hr for tutoring in a math subject

 - $40/hr for LSAT tutoring

I offer $10 off the first lesson as a test run.

I have worked with high school and college students in the past.
