About
Hi everyone! My name is Emily and I am passionate about helping you perform your best in school. I went to a complete dual-enrollment high school where from my sophomore to senior year, I was taking all university classes on a college campus. This experience forced me to be very disciplined in order to learn difficult concepts, fast. Because of my academic background, I have become very well-versed in helping others achieve their academic goals as well.
I often help my friends and extended family with their schoolwork, especially my baby sister. Also, in college classes with people 3 or 4 years older than, I would end up helping them understand concepts.
At my high school, I was also Captain of both the Varsity Volleyball and Varsity Basketball team as well as Vice President of the Student Government Association. These leadership positions taught me how to communicate effectively with others in order to get the job done!
I am excited to help you achieve the best in your academics!

What I enjoy most about helping others succeed academically is the pride. I am so proud of everyone that I have helped because they achieve their goals and realize that learning can be fun. Students who thought they would not get an A on their next test and then got one are so proud of themselves and that brings me so much joy.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I work with a new student, my first priority is determining how the student learns and where their difficulties are in order to better understand how to help them. Everyone learns differently, and using how you learn best to your advantage is the most effective way to produce results.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was enrolled in a full dual-enrollment high school where my sophomore to senior years of high school were spent taking all university courses on a college campus. I graduated high school at 16 years old with a 3.9 non-weighted GPA and have taken over 127 credit hours at the university level with a 3.9 GPA. This experience allowed me to mature very quickly and become disciplined in my studies. I have helped countless of my friends and family in their schoolwork and helped them achieve the grade they wanted.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$20 per every 1 hour. Alternate rates may be discussed at tutor's discretion.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching by helping out those close to me in their studies. If a friend of mine was in the same class as me but was struggling, I would take the time to help them with the concepts. As I was also taking classes with mostly college students, I would help those older than me as well. I have also helped many of my family members, such as my siblings and cousins, find the study methods that work best for them and helped them study to perform better.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many different kinds of people. I have tutored those much younger and older than me, as well as with students who have difficulty concentrating.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I just recently graduated high school and although my graduation was not what I imagined it to be given the current situation, I made the best of it and enjoyed it to the fullest with my friends and family.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be sure to know what your learning style is and if you are not sure, then ask your tutor or teacher for help in determining it. Finding one's learning style is the best and most effective way of learning new material.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
If you have questions about a certain topic, make sure to write them down so that you do not forget and can look back on them later. If you have questions about how you learn best, there are many quizzes that can help you determine that.
