Miss Audrey has been an excellent tutor for my child for the SAT. My daughter was provided targeted feedback and assistance through problem areas. Specifically on the math section, she would help my daughter understand the reasoning behind the question so that she could apply the concepts again successfully in the future. She raised her score over 100 points from the initial predicted score with only a couple of weeks of tutoring. I would highly recommend Miss Audrey. She is very communicative and is able to explain complex questions for my daughter in a way she is able to understand, especially with mathematics which has been a previous point of struggle for my daughter.

Audrey helped my daughter prepare for the math portion of the SAT. My daughter had tried three math tutors prior to Audrey, and she didn’t like the teaching approach for any of the previous tutors. However, Audrey was a great match from the beginning. She has a clear and effective teaching approach. She tailored each lesson plan to my daughter’s personal pattern of strengths and weaknesses. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first find out why the student is seeking help and get some background knowledge of their previous experience with the subject; I then work with the student helping them to understand the material in their learning style; This is key; My goal is to help the student not only understand the material but to also build their confidence.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Palm Beach County certified math educator. I have also homeschooled for over 15 years and tutored students for over 15 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge $60/hr for general math up through Algebra 2.
$65/hr. for Pre-Calc and College Algebra
$90/hr. for SAT/ACT
I charge more for in-person distances over 8 miles.
How did you get started teaching?
It started with my previous job as an actuarial analyst and helping family and friends with math. I realized that I loved math and loved teaching math.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students attending public or private school, some with a learning disability. I have also worked with students that are homeschooled-some were athletes.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the tutor will have the time to invest in you and not just looking to make quick money. Also, never use a tutor that quickly give you answers without ensuring you understand the concept of what you are learning.
