About
Lifelong Tampa native and graduate of the Academy of Holy Names and University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Previous experience as teacher for Pharmacy Technician Certification program locally for UF. My love of math along with patience and a successful teaching background has prepared me to work with struggling math students. I see each student individually and adapt teaching to their learning style. My goals include establishing a comfortable learning environment and providing problem solving skills to students that would benefit from one-on-one tutoring in math.
I enjoy the subject of math and find it gratifying to help a young person advance in their critical thinking skills.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Initial sessions begin with student and teacher meeting and establishing an environment "safe" from criticism. A skills test will be provided to establish the student's current level of comprehension. Simple questions posed in conversation to determine student's learning style and attitude toward math. Parents fill out information sheet listing school, text book, teacher's name. With permission I am willing to speak with teacher for input.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Numerous years in training and writing training manuals for drug store associates. Trained Pharmacy Technicians in math for 3 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Stardard pricing is $40 per hour. Sessions are in one hour intervals. Intervals may be scheduled at top of the hour as well as at the half. Port Tampa Library is used for tutoring sessions. Other sites may be discussed. It is advised that students arrive 10 min prior to session.
How did you get started teaching?
I have frequently been selected to train associates at my places of employment. In 1988 I was asked to join the Training and Development dept of Eckerd Corporation. Additionally I was invited to teach locally for UF.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with ages from 4th grade reading level to adult learners. I am willing to tutor lower grades for students that need help with the basics required to keep up with their class and succeed in future grades. I can greatly assist students falling behind in Algebra I, essential preparation for high school. Geometry tutoring offered for those in need of visualizing in 3rd dimension.
