About
When I was a student, I found myself thinking that I could teach math concepts and answer my classmates questions better than my teachers could. Turns out, I have a knack for making math fun and easy. The sad part is that I still see many teachers today using the same boring techniques and not explaining concepts clearly at all! The most thrilling part of tutoring is helping students to finally not only excel in math but also start liking it for the first time too!
I have been a Math teacher since 2015. I have taught Grades 2-8, including remedial math, Algebra, Geometry and I have also been a Math Intervention Specialist. I have a Bachelor's degree from the College of Education and a Master's in Medical Science from the University of South Florida.
I deeply enjoy seeing evidence that my tutoring strategies are working. When a student improves his/her grades or says, "I finally understand this!" or "For the first time, I actually like math!" That is one of the most rewarding feelings there is.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently, I have been hearing many of my students say that I am the best teacher they have ever had and that for the first time ever, they actually like Math.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Math is an area where topics build one on top of the other, so it is critical to keep up with your understanding of it if you want success in the future. Too often students believe they aren't a "math person" or they don't like math simply because they have some gaps in their understanding due to poor teaching techniques.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do I like Math? Am I excelling at math? Are you a good test taker? Are you a confident reader/writer? If the answer is no to any of these questions, I can help turn things around.
