About
Hello.
I am a college student having just finished my first year at the Florida Atlantic University Honors College. I've taken a variety of math courses so far, going all the way up to Calc 2. I've taken the same math as students in elementary and middle school currently take, and already have experience tutoring and improving grades.
The best way to pass any math class is to find the best solution that works with the student. Every student thinks and analyzes uniquely, and so finding a solution that makes sense to the student and is repeatable is the key. I aim to find the solution that makes the most sense to the student and then work from there to get the student in a position to ace their tests and quizzes!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step is always seeing where they currently stand and how much they know. If a student has a basic grasp on a subject, then we can usually start doing sample problems and seeing what goes wrong there. Otherwise it's important to back up and review the source material again until they're ready to move on to the next step.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've worked with children before, being a youth counselor during my senior year of high school.
I also tutored a student one on one for 6 months during my senior year as well, helping my student improve his grades and confidence in his math skills.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Somewhere around 15$/hour is fine with me.
How did you get started teaching?
I started doing it for fun in high school, since I enjoyed teaching to younger students and had a good grasp of these concepts.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked mostly with students aged 12-14, but younger students really are not an issue for me.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I remember the moment my main student last year started seeing the improvements in his skill and grades. He messaged me on my phone telling me he was doing much better, and in that moment I felt proud and extremely happy for him.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you enjoy working with the person, and that they make sure you fully understand the concept before you move on.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Mainly you need to look at whether or not you need help to begin with. If you aren't putting enough time into school, chances are you will need help. This help could come from you or from me, but if you find yourself struggling at school even though you put in ample study hours, it might be time to look for a tutor.
