What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Determine why the student is deficient in the subject. Then ask the student if they enjoy the subject matter. This will help determine what course of action to take. If the student does not enjoy the subject then I will try to impart my joy for the subject to the student. If the student has missed some significant amount of time in the class, then we will just dive right in. Then, tell the student that they must commit 100 percent to the sessions. And off we go...

I have a Professional Educators certification with the Dept. of Education in Florida in Social Sciences grades 6-12.
