About

I like to explain and illustrate concepts in math in ways that make it easy for students to grasp and understand.

I've taught math for 25 years in public, private, residential and alternative education settings in Delaware, Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia.

I am currently certified in Florida and West Virginia in Elementary K-6 and Middle Math 5-9.

I enjoy interacting with students at every level while they are doing their work and finding out about their creativity and interest.

Getting to know them better helps build a stronger relationship of confidence and trust between student and teacher.

    Frequently asked questions

We then make the corrections and apply them to additional similar problems, engage in some guided practice, assure mastery has occurred and then address the next concept that follows.

After working as an adolescent advocate and counselor in a group home setting following undergraduate study, the state of Delaware offered a certification program for critical curricular areas (math and science) to address the teacher shortage in the state.  I applied to the program, was accepted, obtained my certification and went from there.

I have worked with students in both traditional and non-traditional education programs.
