About

I love math and helping students. I am a retired math professor and I just moved to Florida. I started tutoring shortly after I retired 4 years ago.

I've taught high school math for 20+ years, covering algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus & some statistics.

I like to make students comfortable so they can ask the questions they may not ask in class. Together we work on filling in missing bits of information so they become competent in matematics. I spend time getting to know my students and making the tutoring process fun.

    Frequently asked questions

We spend some time getting to know one another. I introduce myself.  I let them introduce themselves to me, and we chat about school.

Then I take a look at their school work and their assignments. I ask them to identify what they don't understand. Before I dig in to assist, I watch them attempt their homework, so I can see the steps where they are having problems.

I started teaching right out of college. I love math and the fact the world can be reduce to numbers.

I have worked with high school and college students who need a little more time to understand the work.

I enjoy Nature, and being outside. I recently went to a Forest Bathing event at Mead Garden. We sat outside amongst the trees and took time to meditate, and rest. It was relaxing.

Ask them what math courses they enjoy, and are most comfortable teaching.
