About

I am currently an advanced math high school student with a passion for helping others. I feel 100% comfortable teaching math all the way up to Algebra I but in some cases I might be able to teach some geometry and Algebra II. I have tutored some of my peers as well as underclassman before and helped other students of varied ages. I have been doing some tutoring on and off for about 2 years but have been helping my younger brother with math for many more. I teach based off of what I learned from my schooling and the notes I took from that time. I also have plenty of worksheets to give the student to practice with as well as additional videos of me teaching the subject matter again with some examples. The videos are a great tool for students to review the subject matter if they forgot it or want to look back at it. The videos also help by having someone talk about the information. I am a unique tutor in the fact that I am still learning new math material. Because of this I am able to give updated math advice and can understand some of the tools that teachers use. I am very flexible with the hours I tutor and can pretty much tutor at any time. There is also a sort of kinship in peer tutoring because it sometimes doesn't make the session feel so awkward.

    Frequently asked questions

I usually start out by asking the student questions to see what they need help with and start going through what their goals are and what they want to accomplish. This is usually done in a sort of consultation manner and it is half the price of my typical fee per session. Once this is established I will review the material before I teach it. Then I have a session with the student and will teach the subject matter they need help understanding and also give them plenty of practice problems as well as some mild homework to do to make sure they can do the material on their own. I also make videos for almost every lesson I teach. There will be access to a video relating to the subject they learned during the session. If the student needs more help when I am unavailable or if they just need a refresher the videos can be a life saver. I am always learning new things and trying to update my style of teaching to match with how the student learns. Therefore, the consultation is also a way for me to see how they learn and adapt my strategy based on that.

I am currently in high school and going to be a junior taking Pre-Calculas Honors. I plan on taking AP Calculas my senior year to get the most of the offered math courses. I have been in advanced math since middle school and have only excelled more in high school. I feel confident in the material I teach and will always try to learn more to be able to help others.

I charge by sessions which typically run by the hour. The session can go up to an hour or can be extended by another session if the student needs more help. If the session does not take up the full hour, you will still be charged the same because each session books an hour of time.

    - Consultation (meeting the student and seeing how they learn and what they need help with or want to achieve) $15

    - Normal session (typical 1 hour session) $30

    - Double session (2 consecutive hours) $60

    - Triple session (3 consecutive hours) $90

I am willing to do packages depending on how many sessions per week is needed. If there is a need for more tutoring time, I am able to accommodate even if it was not initially the plan.

I started teaching when my brother needed help with his assignments. My friends in school started coming to me for math help and asking me questions. I thought that I might as well try it because I liked helping them figure out what they needed.

I have worked with younger children as well as high schoolers. I have also worked with students with some learning disabilities. I always take extra care with my students and try my best to make the session enjoyable
