My ability to individualize the tutoring sessions and adapt to each student’s learning curve has allowed me succeed in the past. I am also confident that having a Bachelor’s degree in Languages and working towards a second one in Computer Engineering, has given me the skills to understand both the theory and practice of Mathematics, allowing me to communicate better with students.
What I enjoy the most is the feeling we get when we help students develope their skills and improve in school.
I have a 10 yo son who had been struggling with math in school since he was very little. Elizabeth, or as we call her Ellie, was incredible and really helped Jack from the first class. I believe I have some general knowledge about Math but when I tried to hel Jack with his homework I was not able to get through him. We would sit together for hour to do the homework but he was still having trouble understanding the math problems. With Ellie, it was a completely different dynamic that was definitely working for him. I have recommended her to other moms at school and they have all said the same about her.
I was a freshman 3 semesters ago at Valencia College and I had to take college math. I friend gave me Elizabeth’s number because I was having difficulties in class. I can say I passed the class thanks to her.
Elizabeth was very professional and she was able to connect with my 16 year old daughter right away. My daughter was having trouble with algebra and we tried different tutors with no success. Elizabeth spent some time during the first class giving my daugther some simple algebra problems to see how she did and they went on from there. I already told her my daughter will be her student until she graduates high school and maybe even college depending on her degree.
When I meet students for the first time, I like to get to know about their learning process. I understand we all learn at a different pace and by using different techniques. In the past, my students have recognized my abilities to individualize their classes allowing them to improve in their classes.
