About
⭐ Experienced, Patient & Dedicated Tutor | 9 Years of Experience Helping Students Succeed
Hello! My name is Koby, and I am a dedicated, patient, and experienced tutor with nine years of experience working with children and students from preschool through high school.
For the past nine years, I have had the opportunity to support students in a variety of educational and childcare settings, including private one-on-one tutoring, after-school programs, academic enrichment programs, licensed daycare centers, early childhood education environments, and educational institutions.
Throughout this experience, I have worked with students of different ages, personalities, academic levels, learning styles, and individual needs. These experiences have taught me that successful tutoring is not about using the exact same method with every student.
Every student is different. Every student learns differently. And every student deserves an approach designed specifically for them.
My goal is to create a tutoring environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, supported when they struggle, encouraged when they make mistakes, and proud of the progress they make.
Whether your child needs help understanding a difficult concept, improving their grades, preparing for a test, completing homework, developing stronger study habits, organizing their schoolwork, or simply gaining confidence in a subject, I am here to provide the individualized support they need.

🎯 A Truly Personalized Approach
One of the most important things I have learned during my nine years of experience is that there is no single teaching method that works for every student.
Some students understand a concept immediately. Others need to see it explained visually. Some need several examples. Others need to practice the skill themselves with guidance before it clicks.
Instead of expecting students to adapt to one teaching style, I adapt my tutoring to the student.
I take time to understand:
What the student already knows
Where they are struggling
What concepts they may be missing
How they learn most effectively
What motivates them
What frustrates them
What their academic goals are
What areas they need the most support with
From there, I create a session that is focused on their individual needs.
Depending on the student, I may use:
Step-by-step instruction
Visual explanations
Guided practice
Repetition and review
Practice questions
Real-world examples
Reading strategies
Writing exercises
Study guides
Memory techniques
Organizational strategies
Test-taking strategies
Positive reinforcement
Frequent check-ins to make sure the student truly understands
If one explanation doesn't work, I don't simply repeat the same explanation louder or faster. I find another way to teach it.
💡 My approach
My philosophy is that tutoring should go beyond simply getting homework finished.
Of course, completing assignments and preparing for exams are important. But I also want students to develop the ability to approach academic challenges independently.
Rather than simply telling a student what the answer is, I guide them through the reasoning behind it.
For example, if a student is struggling with a math problem, we can identify what information the problem provides, determine what it is asking, work through the appropriate steps together, and then practice a similar problem so the student can eventually approach it independently.
If a student is writing an essay, I can help them understand the assignment, organize their thoughts, develop their ideas, structure their writing, and revise their work rather than simply writing it for them.
The goal is not just “What is the answer?”
The goal is:
“How did we get there, and how can you do it yourself next time?”
That distinction is at the heart of my tutoring approach.
🌱 Building Academic Confidence
Academic struggles can affect much more than grades.
When students repeatedly struggle with a subject, they can begin to believe:
"I'm just not good at math."
"I'm terrible at writing."
"I can't understand science."
"I'm not a good student."
I don't believe a difficult subject or a disappointing grade should define a student's ability.
Sometimes students don't need someone to tell them that something is easy.
They need someone who is willing to say:
“That's okay. Let's slow down and figure this out together.”
I strive to create an environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions without fear of embarrassment.
My goal is to help students experience those important moments when something that once seemed confusing finally makes sense.
And when that happens, their confidence grows.
🧠 Supporting Different Learning Needs
Throughout my experience, I have worked with students who benefit from additional patience, repetition, structure, encouragement, and individualized explanations.
I understand that some students need:
Concepts broken into smaller steps
Additional repetition
More time to process information
Multiple examples
Visual learning tools
Frequent review
Clear instructions
Organizational support
Additional encouragement
A structured and predictable learning environment
I can adapt sessions accordingly.
For students who become overwhelmed by large assignments or multiple deadlines, I can help transform:
“I have so much work and I don't know where to begin.”
into:
“Here is what we are going to do first, then next, and then after that.”
Breaking academic responsibilities into manageable pieces can make schoolwork feel much more achievable.
👧 Experience With Preschool & Younger Learners
My experience extends beyond traditional academic tutoring.
I have also worked in licensed daycare and early childhood education settings, where I participated in educational activities, literacy exercises, educational games, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
Working with younger children taught me the importance of patience, creativity, flexibility, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
With younger students, I understand that learning should be engaging and developmentally appropriate. Children often learn best when they can interact with the material, participate actively, and connect learning to things they already enjoy.
My experience with younger children has also strengthened my ability to remain attentive, nurturing, organized, and patient.
🏫 Experience in Academic & After-School Settings
I have also worked with students in after-school and academic enrichment environments, helping them:
Complete homework
Review classroom material
Prepare for assessments
Practice academic skills
Develop study habits
Stay organized
Work through challenging assignments
Build confidence
I understand that students often need additional support outside of the classroom because classroom teachers have many students and limited time to provide individualized attention.
That's where one-on-one tutoring can make a meaningful difference.
A student can ask questions, slow down, revisit a concept, practice additional examples, and receive immediate individualized feedback.
📈 Supporting Students Through Academic Transitions
I also understand that certain points in a student's education can bring significant changes.
Moving from elementary school into middle school, or from middle school into high school, often means:
More homework
Greater academic expectations
More independent studying
Larger projects
More challenging material
Increased responsibility
Greater importance placed on organization and time management
I can help students develop the habits and confidence they need to navigate these transitions successfully.
My goal is not simply to help students survive the current assignment.
I want to help them develop skills that will continue benefiting them throughout their education.
❤️ What Parents Can Expect From Me
When a family chooses me as their tutor, I understand that they are trusting me with something extremely important—their child's education and confidence.
I take that responsibility seriously.
Parents can expect me to be:
Reliable
I understand how important consistency is for students and families. I strive to be dependable, punctual, and prepared.
Patient
I never want a student to feel embarrassed for asking the same question twice—or ten times. Understanding comes first.
Professional
I treat every student and family with respect and maintain a professional, responsible approach.
Prepared
I want every session to have a purpose, whether that is completing homework, reviewing material, preparing for a test, or working toward a longer-term academic goal.
Encouraging
I believe students perform better when they feel supported and believe that improvement is possible.
Adaptable
I adjust my teaching style according to the student's age, personality, subject, learning preferences, and academic needs.
Student-Focused
The student is always at the center of the session. I focus on what they need—not simply on following a predetermined lesson.
🎓 About Me
I am currently pursuing my education at Florida International University, and my academic and professional experiences have strengthened my communication, organization, leadership, interpersonal, and instructional skills.
My experiences working with students and families have reinforced my belief that education is about much more than grades.
A successful tutoring session might mean a student raises their test score.
It might mean they finally understand a concept that has been confusing them for weeks.
It might mean they complete an assignment without feeling overwhelmed.
It might mean they become comfortable enough to ask questions in class.
Or it might simply mean that a student leaves the session thinking:
“I actually can do this.”
I value all of those accomplishments.
⭐ Why Choose Me?
With nine years of experience, I bring more than subject knowledge to tutoring.
I bring experience working with children and students across different ages and educational settings.
I bring patience.
I bring consistency.
I bring adaptability.
I bring encouragement.
And most importantly, I genuinely care about the students I work with.
I understand that parents aren't simply looking for someone to sit with their child and help them finish homework.
They are looking for someone they can trust.
Someone who will be patient when their child is struggling.
Someone who will communicate respectfully.
Someone who will take their child's education seriously.
Someone who will celebrate progress while continuing to challenge their child to grow.
That is the kind of tutor I strive to be.
🌟 My Goal for Every Student
Ultimately, my goal is not simply to help students get through their homework or pass their next test.
My goal is to help students become stronger, more confident, and more independent learners.
I want students to understand the material rather than simply memorize an answer.
I want them to learn how to approach difficult problems rather than immediately assume they cannot solve them.
I want them to recognize their progress rather than define themselves by one difficult assignment or one disappointing grade.
And I want them to leave each session feeling more prepared than when they arrived.
Understand. Improve. Grow. Believe in Yourself.
Those are the principles I bring to every tutoring session.
I offer both online and in-person tutoring and am happy to work with families to establish a consistent schedule based on their student's needs.
If you're looking for a tutor who is experienced, patient, reliable, professional, encouraging, and genuinely invested in your child's success, I would love the opportunity to work with your family.
Every student has the ability to grow. My job is to help them discover that ability, strengthen their skills, overcome challenges, and build the confidence to succeed—not just today, but throughout their academic journey.
