About

Through my education and my tutoring experiences, I have amassed rigorous scientific and mathematical knowledge, particularly in general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, calculus, and statistics. For the past 7 years, I have been working for a private SAT tutoring and college prep company. Through this role, I have tutored numerous high school and college students in AP, SAT, and college level biology, chemistry, math, physics, and other subjects. Furthermore, I have previously developed an SAT math workbook, crafting questions that resemble those in the SAT. Similarly, I have previously led weekly organic chemistry workshops for a group of 30-50 Penn students in which I teach them how to approach difficult organic chemistry problems. Through my work as a tutor, I have taught students of diverse backgrounds, education levels, and learning abilities, which has encouraged me to be patient and craft lesson plans that don’t progress too quickly or slowly. I have done all of this virtually, so I am quite comfortable with using Zoom and other software to facilitate learning. Most importantly, I have taken all the courses that I teach, so I relate with my students.

I really enjoy teaching students because of the impact I am able to have on a young person’s life. Growing up, I was lucky to have incredible teachers and professors who made me appreciate difficult subjects. Subsequently, I strive to not only teach students how to solve a particular problem or understand a concept, but also how to appreciate how everything comes together.

Michael has been an excellent tutor. He helped me get my SAT subject test scores up from low 500s to low to mid 700s. He genuinely cares about your struggles and aims to revitalize what you know or dont know about the topic/subject. His way of teaching is student-led, which was fantastic and really immersed me into understanding the topic. Overall, I would highly recommend Michael to anyone who is looking for a proper tutor who can deliver the results you want!

Amazing learning experience!
We went over recent neuroscience articles on Nature. I found the articles very hard to understand. Michael was amazingly patient, personable, smart, and knowledgable. He broke down each difficult concept for me in simple language and made sure that I understood them. Learning with Michael was easy, fun and almost effortless. I would definitely take another lesson with him and highly recommend it to anyone struggling with biology.
