Ivy League Graduate And Current Medical Student With Math, Chemistry, Physics, Biology Tutoring Experience
About
Through my education and my tutoring experiences, I have amassed rigorous scientific and mathematical knowledge, particularly in general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, calculus, and statistics. For the past 7 years, I have been working for a private SAT tutoring and college prep company. Through this role, I have tutored numerous high school and college students in AP, SAT, and college level biology, chemistry, math, physics, and other subjects. Furthermore, I have previously developed an SAT math workbook, crafting questions that resemble those in the SAT. Similarly, I have previously led weekly organic chemistry workshops for a group of 30-50 Penn students in which I teach them how to approach difficult organic chemistry problems. Through my work as a tutor, I have taught students of diverse backgrounds, education levels, and learning abilities, which has encouraged me to be patient and craft lesson plans that don’t progress too quickly or slowly. I have done all of this virtually, so I am quite comfortable with using Zoom and other software to facilitate learning. Most importantly, I have taken all the courses that I teach, so I relate with my students.
I really enjoy teaching students because of the impact I am able to have on a young person’s life. Growing up, I was lucky to have incredible teachers and professors who made me appreciate difficult subjects. Subsequently, I strive to not only teach students how to solve a particular problem or understand a concept, but also how to appreciate how everything comes together.
