Hello! I am a recent college graduate. I have been tutoring children for 8 years now, and have taught students in all subjects ranging from ages 4-19! I am certified with the American Youth Literacy Foundation (YouthLit) and have passed rigorous certification tests in the sciences, math, and reading comprehension. I also have experience with special needs such as dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, and autism. I hope you consider me to help your child reach their full potential and succeed!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I like the first lesson to be more of an introduction to what the student needs help with. This gives me the chance to do an evaluation of their strengths and weaknesses. I like to take note of how they learn best, their hobbies and interests, and what they hope to accomplish in our time together.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified literacy tutor, but I tutor all subjects. I have been tutoring for 8 years and have worked in a school setting.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lesson price usually varies depending on number of students and the subject. They average around $20-$30/hr. I offer multiple hour and multiple student discounts.
How did you get started teaching?
I started out as a volunteer when I was 14 years old.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students between the ages of 3 and 20. I have experience working with students on the autism spectrum, with ADHD, dyslexia, Down syndrome, and more.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was very pleased when I helped a hospital home bound student finally gain confidence in her math class.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would recommend that the student ask plenty of questions. In order for tutoring to be effective, both the tutor and student must be able to communicate well.
