About

My name is Sammy. I am a tutoring math and chemistry professional as I worked as a chemical engineer for the past 10+ years. I have tutored high school and college students in algebra 1 and 2, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus 1, and chemistry on a voluntarily basis in the past while working as an engineer. I am ready and enthusiastic about tutoring. I plan to tutor students only online. I will need to communicate with the student prior to the tutor session to know which topics in the subject I will need to cover, so that I can prepare and plan the lesson ahead of time. I will address the areas that the student is struggling in and teach those concepts and provide some problems for the student to solve and demonstrate mastery to me in the session. If I feel the student is still struggling with a concept or concepts, I will provide additional problems for the student to work on to develop a better understanding and mastery of the concept outside of the session. I will be available outside of the tutoring sessions to be contacted if the student needs additional assistance for no additional charge. Additionally, I will track the student's performance to ensure that progress is being made.

I have a Bachelor's of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Florida. I worked as a Chemical Engineer in a Power Plant for 10+ years. From my work experience as an engineer, I developed great communication skills in listening and speaking, problem solving skills, data analysis and interpretation of results, and project management skills and these skills will be implemented for my tutoring services. I am here to be an educator, guide, and friend to help and support the student in their academic struggles and to move him or her to achieving better performance and other goals.

    Frequently asked questions

I will ask the student what topic the student is struggling in math or chemistry. I will read the lessons on the topics and solv problems and prepare notes and problems prior to the session. During the session, I will teach the topics and test that the student is understanding and mastering the concept by solving problems in front of me. If I feel the student is still struggling with the concept, I will assign additional problems to solve outside the session and I will give hints if he or she gets stuck and assist outside the session on the additional problems until they master them.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and passed the Engineer In Training exam which had difficult math, science, and engineering problems. Additionally, I tutored students in math and chemistry while in college and while working as an engineer on a voluntarily basis.

I charge $40 per hour for math and chemistry tutor sessions. I can tutor groups of students in the same class at a discounted rated.

I started tutoring voluntarily tutoring after passing the Engineer In Training exam in 2009. I tutored on as needed basis from time to time.

I worked with high school and college students of all ages from young to old.

I am happy that I have transitioned from working as an engineer to becoming online tutor and educator and working in my passion of eduacation. I feel like it is my calling in life.

Make sure the tutor can guide you on the right track and help you achieve your goals.
