About
I create a learner profile based on the feedback I receive by learning and asking questions about the student's current progress from the student and primary guardian.
I provide a platform for students, guardians and myself to keep updated on the latest progress and material covered as well as a place for the student to ask homework/studying questions I can then cover in our next session.
I have experience working with neurodivergent students, ESE students, K-12 grades through teaching and tutoring. I combine my professional experience with personal development research to create sessions that build on skills they already have to solve problems.
I am a designer at heart with a computer science background and I provide both a logical and visual approach to teaching combined with application learning. I use my skills to adapt to different learner types by breaking down what does work out for the student and building up from there.
I also offer group sessions for accountability and homework help when I have multiple students from the same grade in the same subject (or in a different grade, similar curriculum and same subject). If you are interested in this, just mention it and I will let you know if this is available and put your student on the list.
I love empowering students to utilize their own abilities and skills they already have to solve the challenges they face. Not all academic problems are around the material itself, much of it has to do with logical deduction and reasoning, that's why I love providing tools and resources that aid the students in building confidence in themselves to tackle these problems.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before starting our first session together, I begin with a coffee + tea chat with the primary guardian(s) and we chat about the student, their goals for tutoring, and make sure we're a good fit.
Then once the contract is signed, I learn more about the student from the student and guardian(s) about the student's academic journey and get everyone access to the dashboard where we'll be staying connected.
Then the student will receive a link to book sessions with me when they wish (with a 24 hour notice) and our first session begins when they book it!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Alongside tutoring I work as a substitute teacher primarily teaching K-8.
I graduated from a STEM university with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.
I have previous tutoring experience from high school and experience tutoring 6-12 grades during college in Math.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing varies based on each learner, the type of sessions they are seeking, the goal of receiving tutoring, and what subject they are seeking tutoring assistance in.
Currently I offer Math. If you are interested in Intro to Computer Science tutoring or Study Skills Development sessions reach out and let me know and I will put down your information to notify you as soon as it is available!
