Elementary/Middleschool Math Tutoring
About
I’ve been working with children for a long time. In my earlier years, I was a babysitter. Down the road, the babysitting gigs became tutoring sessions. I have experience with a sorts of different kids, which is why I think I can make a difference as a tutor.

I enjoy the satisfaction of making a difference in a child’s life. The children who struggle with their academics are misunderstood as unintelligent or slow academically. This is not the case. All minds are different. I enjoy observing these minds and helping them geow through the techniques and strategies beat for them!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know the child first. The first few days of tutoring include observing their strengths and weaknesses, their likes and dislikes, etc. Once I get a good understanding of the child, I provide strategies and techniques that are best for that child in succeeding.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working at a student learning center for about 6 years now. I have been tutoring privately for about 3 years now.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, I like to get paid $25 an hour. If distance is an issue, then I usually raise the amount to $35 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started working at Kumon, a learning institution. I also tutored my friends at a young age, which got me into tutoring as a part time job.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all sorts of children. The better question would be what students have I not worked with, and that would be highschoolers. They usually need help with SAT/ACT prep which is one subject I would rather not help with because in my opinion a fee sessions of prep will not change a student’s score by much. I would hate to give the student as well as the parent false hope. If highschoolers need help with homework or classwork, then I am more than welcomed to help them in achieving that.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you are comfortable with your tutor. The worst thing is when your tutor doesnt understand the way you think or what fits your learning process.
