Thomas Beaucham, CPA
About
I am a licensed CPA in the state of Florida. I work full-time for the City of Jacksonville as an internal auditor.
I have a Master's of Accountancy, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. During my undergraduate studies, I participated in Student Government and the accounting honors society. My GPA at graduation was 3.81.
I scored 700 on the SAT math section in high school on my first attempt. I took the AP Calculus AB exam in my sophomore year of high school and scored a 5 (highest score possible), and then took Calculus II and Calculus III at FSCJ the following year. While in high school, I volunteered as a math tutor privately and for the FSCJ Math Lab. My experience helping people has taught me that students are often challenged by math because they are not comfortable with the concepts and language used. My strategy has always been to provide all acceptable strategies for solving a problem and present them in a way that is more relatable to the student.
I look forward to working with you and assisting you with achieving your goals!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will ask some questions to determine the student's challenges with the subject. Then I will observe the student work through a problem and have them verbalize their process to identify their strengths and weaknesses. At times, I will challenge their thinking to make them think more thoroughly about their process and strengthen their confidence in their answer.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's in accounting and a CPA license in Florida.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Standard rate is $40 per hour, but will adjust depending on circumstances like travel.
How did you get started teaching?
I started as a volunteer in high school. I always took AP and college courses, so I chose to use my abilities to help others. I believe that makes our society better for everyone.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with high school and college students.
