About
I currently teach high school mathematics.
I've taught middle school and high school math in private international schools as well as public schools since 1996 in Texas, Paraguay, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, and now Miami.
I understand the specific difficulties by students who struggle in math, as I deal with those problems every day.
Most of all I enjoy those "Ah ha!" moments when one of my students understands a difficult math concept.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have them demostrate for me basic questions I feel they should know so I can see where to begin the process of improvement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified 6-12 mathematics teacher with many years of teaching experience in secondary math. I've taught all subjects in the middle school to high school curriculum.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in public schools my home state of Texas, then moved overseas for 11 years teaching in international schools. I currently teach in a Miami Dade public school.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught in inner city schools, magnet schools, rural and urban districts, as well as international and American schools on three different continents.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should make a serious attempt at each question they are assigned, and, if they are stuck, write down the page and problem number with a short paragraph in their own words about what they do not understand. This makes for a much more efficient tutoring process when they come to me.
