Mubin Khan Math & Science Tutoring
About
I first started tutoring in different subjects of mathematics through the mathematics honor society at my high school. Through that I met students of many different skill levels and was able to learn different techniques to teach every single one of them. Eventually after taking Chemistry 1 and 2 at Florida International University after successfully completing the class with extremely high exam scores, I started to tutor in it as well. It started off as being just my peers but eventually I expanded and started to tutor others because of how much positive responses I received. Then after taking Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 at FIU I became a learning assistant for Organic Chemistry 1 because my professor saw that I had the capability to facilitate learning amongst others.
At the present moment as well as being a Learning Assistant and assisting the students in Organic Chemistry 1, I tutor in a variety of subjects all at the University Level including but not limited to Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, General Chemistry 1 and 2, Organic Chemistry 1 and Physics 1 with Calculus. I am available to make a weekly schedule to ensure your success in the class or exam that you are preparing for. I tutor in a variety of subjects. Tutoring allows me to spread the knowledge that I have to others.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For students that would just like a session before an exam I try and cover all the material that they would need to ace that exam and go over concepts that are difficult for them to understand. If a student would like a set schedule for a class then the first session is usually to gauge where they are in terms of what they know and then I build from that in the coming sessions. Openly concept tutoring in which the student can give me feedback as to what is working for them and what they don't prefer.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been tutoring for 4 years now, first starting off with my mathematics and science honor societies in my highschool as the Vice President of Tutoring. Currently I am part of the Learning Assistant Program as an Organic Chemistry 1 LA at Florida International University in which we help students actively learn in classrooms while aiding the professor.
