About
Looking for an experienced tutor?
My name is Julia Rauton, and I am a Junior at the University of Miami majoring in Finance. I specialize in mathematical subjects such as calculus, algebra, and geometry, but I am adept in all academic areas. I have professional experience applying these subjects in the workplace and am adept at helping students reach their goals. I am willing to negotiate price and time to find a deal that works with you.
Hope to work with you soon!
The greatest satisfaction I recieve from my work is watching my students grow and prosper once they can fully comprehend their subject. Each student has a unique way of grasping an academic area, and working with students to find the way they learn best helps me to grow as a tutor as well.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Getting to know a student is crucial for me to find the best way to assist them academically. I like to work with students to find their strengths and weaknesses beforehand to get a better understanding of how I should explain the subject to them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been tutoring for academic subjects for three years now and am well experienced in teaching algebra, calculus, geometry, and other subjects to students. I am completing a calculus based degree in Finance Technology at the University of Miami so you can be sure you are getting the finest level of teaching.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard price is $30 an hour and I also host group sessions in which the price drops $5 per person added to the group. I would like my tutoring to be accessible to all, so I understand if you have a special situation in which you cannot accept this price. In this case, message me for any questions.
How did you get started teaching?
I originally began tutoring part-time three years ago for a child of a colleague of mine and decided to take it full-time on this website. I had previous positive experiences through tutoring and decided to make a career in it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students at various levels of learning throughout my experience. I am extremely flexible and patient when it comes to my teaching style and worked with students that had difficulty picking up subjects as well as students who loved to move quickly.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a teacher that understands the student's problem before immediately beginning to explain the subject. A lot of time can be wasted by tutors eplaining what a student already knows becuase of the lack of communication between a student and the tutor.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Having a book ready with questions on specific parts of the chapter is great for jumping immediately into the problem. Knowing the future test dates, and specific areas that a student struggles with will help to use time more efficiently.
