Alyssa’s Tutoring
About
I am a recent high school graduate so l am up to date with current school practices and teaching methods. This allows me to really cater to what a student may need in the learning process that their current schools may not be tending to.
I enjoy knowing that I was able to help make the learning process more enjoyable for each student. Education shouldn’t be dreaded at an early age and I like helping students find the subjects that make them eager to learn.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Every student learns differently so I always begin with identifying how each student learns so I can cater my tutoring methods to them. After that I try to establish a bond with each student that allows me to be an approachable tutor because I find that students will ask necessary questions more so to those they feel more comfortable with than others.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I recently graduated from Miami’s mega Magnet with a 5.0 weighted GPA and am currently pursuing a degree at Florida State University. I was a tutor at Kumon for about a year. I also tutored after school with various clubs like the National Honor Society. I also interned as a teaching fellow and had the honor of teaching 6th grade earth and space science.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Since I travel to each and every one of my students and am flexible with scheduling , I charge a flat rate of $45 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I’ve always had a passion for learning and enjoyed making the education process more enjoyable for others as well. After various after-school tutoring gigs in high school with my classmates , their siblings , etc , I began tutoring outside students. That’s when I truly discovered my passion for teaching and decided to intern as a teaching fellow at a summer academic enrichment program. Ever since then I’ve been tutoring in my free time.
What types of students have you worked with?
I’ve worked with elementary, middle , and high school students of all skill levels. I’ve worked with students who like school and want to get ahead Or even students who need an extra push. I focus on math , reading, and science but I’ve worked with history students too.
