About
We work with students of all ages, including adults! Our students regularly achieve a full grade level of improvement with less than 30 hours of tutoring. We are a non-profit so our rates tend to be lower than big companies. We can tutor most subjects and we also offer free homework help for elementary aged kids and teens.
I love the fact that we give solutions to kids who are in deep trouble in school. Our tutors are excellent, hghly trained and resourceful and they get products with their students FAST! Our website: CLCtutoring.com

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We schedule a time for the parent and student to come in to fill out enrollment paperwork and do Assessment Testing in the subject that is challenging. Our Director of Tutoring will customize a program to fill in the gaps of the student's education program. We figure out what schedule will work and match the student with one of our tutors who is able to work on their subjects and who is available the days the student is looking for.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our tutors are highly trained using study technology, phonics training, math training, etc. We also have tutors who specialize in higher subjects like physics, chemistry, trigonometry, etc.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We use a sliding scale so our hourly rates are based on the family's income. The rate is determined by the number of people who live in the home and total income for the year and can range from $20/hour to $40/hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I've been tutoring kids for over 14 years now and we have tutors who have taught for longer than that even.
What types of students have you worked with?
All levels -elementary, middle and high school and adults. We have tutors who work with all basic subjects plus English as a second language students, GED students, ACT/SAT prep, and many higher-level subjects. We also offer free homework help.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We helped an adult student who came in at a 4th grade level improve all the way to getting his GED in approx 9 months. This student is now writing books and working and feels he is a productive member of society.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a tutor in your area of expertise?
Ask what type of results they get. Tutors should keep pre- and post-testing results so they know how long it takes to help a student improve.
What questions should students think through before talking to tutors about their needs?
Know what areas of each subject you are looking to improve and which subjects need immediate attention vs. which subjects need work but are not priority. Also, if you are interested in improving your SAT/ACT score or get your GED, it is helpful to know what you scored previously on these tests. Also, if there is something your teacher would like you to focus on, we can customize the program to fit that but will need the teacher's wishes in writing to be able to help with that.
