With everything going on this year I was really worried about my child falling behind, so I started looking into finding my son a tutor. I came across tutors.com and found Mr. Leahey and very thankful I did he is very patient and knowledgeable. I received my son’s quarterly grades and he went from a B to an A in math. I am so beyond happy I made the decision to get him a tutor, and so happy it’s with you thank you for all that you do.

Frequently asked questions

I like to spend 5-10 minutes on introductions and discussing the student's goals.  Then, create a plan for how we can accomplish those goals.  After that, we get to work!

I hold a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Secondary Science Education.   as well as a Masters of Business Administration with a marketing concentration

$50/Hour

I started my career in education as a substitute teacher while pursuing my undergraduate degree.  After graduating, I worked at a 4-H camp running after school programs focused on environmental education and STEM for three years, one of these years was spent as an Americorps VISTA.

Over the course of my career, I have worked with students k-12 in and out of the classroom, as well as taught an undergraduate course at Thomas College in Maine.

In 2015 I was hired by a conservation non-profit to build an education program for them from scratch.  In my two years with this organization, I created environmental education programs in five local schools, one college, and one summer camp.  While the non-profit doesn't exist anymore, several of these programs are still running independently.  I recently heard from one of the middle school teachers I worked with about how she plans to expand on one of these programs.

My advice would be to find a tutor that is flexible, but stern.  Students should be pursuing a mentor they can trust.

Students should consider their past performances in the subject they're being tutored in as well as the subjects in which they don't require tutoring.  There are often parallels between these that can be drawn to ensure success.
