About
I have extensive experience teaching. I homeschooled three children for over 10 years and taught in public school for two years. I hold a Master's Degree in Psychology which is very useful in relating to students and helping them with issues interfering with their ability to learn. I teach K-12 students and also provide mentoring services.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I use humor to establish rapport with students first. It would be important for the student to feel comfortable before we begin the lessons. I introduce myself and the student can ask questions if they have any and we would go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a military veteran and my training and experiences allowed me to excel in leadership skills, character, and various life skills. I have an MA in Psychology and I have experience working as a caseworker and counselor. I also homeschooled my family for 10 years and taught in public school for two years. I am well versed in social media so I am knowledgeable of today's trends. I am one class away from my Chartered Financial Consultant designation. Did I mention I am also running for the school board? Yes, I am that awesome!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My hourly rate starts at $25. This includes my motivational booklets, exercises, mentoring, career counseling, and proof-reading.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching while living in Germany. I homeschooled our family for 10 years. Living in Europe was incredible and enabled us to travel to various countries while learning at the same time. The world is the best classroom!
What types of students have you worked with?
I homeschooled my family from grade school all the way up until college. I further instructed at Mason Classical Academy for two years. I have worked with students from age four up to age 19. I have also worked with children with different learning styles and abilities. One has to learn to adjust the teaching, depending on the needs of the students. You must meet students where they are and work up from there.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am currently running for the school board. It is a lot of work but, I love it! I was hired as a board member for a private company. I am a guest speaker and spokesperson for non-profit organizations. I was filmed in a video to guide students on bridging the gap between education and technology.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My best advice is to make sure you speak with the teacher to make sure it is a good fit before hiring the teacher. In addition, ask the age group they have worked with and what impacting activities they have done to motivate students.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students can first ask when the teacher is available and set up an appointment to share their needs or concerns. Students can have their short-term goals in mind and ask teachers what steps are required to accomplish them.
