About
Susan Moldow founded her own educational consulting business in 2001 and has become one of South Florida's most effective consultants for SAT, ACT, GRE, and SSAT/ISEE preparation as well as math and reading tutoring, college advising and resume creation. She is also a professional writer and editor of non-fiction and fiction manuscripts/essays for undergraduate/graduate applications, scholarly use and corporate work.
A graduate of Cornell University (B.S.) the University of Maryland (M.Ed.), and Florida Atlantic University (M.A. English), Susan has 20+ years of experience teaching and empowering students in reading, math, writing and study skills. Prior to her work as a private tutor, Susan trained with and taught classes for the Princeton Review, a nationwide test preparation organization.
As a former instructor for the Princeton review and a private tutor for math study skills, Susan has a strong background in pre-algebra, algebra, algebra 2, and geometry. She has taught math on many levels to middle and high school students for over two decades.
Her writing background has also enabled her to help others to create and/or edit engaging application essays as well as strategic resumes and cover letters. She has also assisted her clients with a variety of writing projects from research papers to editing self-help and autobiographical manuscripts scheduled for publication.
Susan loves empowering her students and clients through personalized test preparation and resume/manuscript writing plans, and learning about how each one of her students and clients can be successful at attaining their goals.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I work with students and families to assess skills and determine best fit approach as well as materials to be used. Each approach is personalized and my time is organized and flexible to meet the needs of each student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an undergraduate degree from Cornell University, have a Masters in Education. as well as a masters in English and I am a PhD candidate in Literature.
How did you get started teaching?
I thought public school and private school as a secondary education teacher. I have also been a Princeton Review test preparation instructor before finding my own Educational consulting business.
What types of students have you worked with?
All ages and abilities!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I worked with a student on math and reading to help him take his standardized tests. He has learning disabilities and had no hope of going to college. He will be attending a state University this Fall!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the approaches person lives and that the teacher is passionate about what they do!
