Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
You will be learning through conversation, reading practice, and listening in a friendly environment. I’m also open to teaching in any style that fit your personal needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently attending SNHU for my BA in the arts of English and would later like to become, not only an English tutor but a teacher as well. I'll be working toward not only my degree but my TEF certification as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Normally, I would charge $1 per minute. However, I am willing to negotiate based on your specific needs and what is reasonable for both of us.
How did you get started teaching?
I begin by getting to know my students and learning about their personal goals. I'd then develop a plan to help my students reach these objectives.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with people of various ages. I prefer to work with students that are at least 13 years old.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My university just added me to the presidents list, which was something I was particularly proud of. This was incredibly thrilling for me since it demonstrates that dedication and hard work pay off!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
As someone who has recently struggled to find teachers to help me learn a second language. Don't hire somebody who isn't actively pursuing the objectives you've set for yourself. That instructor isn't for you if you don't feel like you're accomplishing your full potential.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
- How long have they been tutoring?
- What are their qualifications, certifications, or credentials?
- What's their expertise in the content area i am stuggling with?
- Have they worked before with kids or adults who have trouble in the same area as me?
