Fourth-Year Pre-Med College Student
About
I am a Health Science student at James Madison University with over three years of experience as a Chemistry Teaching Assistant and experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in reading and math. My passion for teaching comes from helping students build confidence and develop a true understanding of the material rather than simply memorizing information.
I tailor each lesson to the student's individual learning style and academic goals. Whether we're working through chemistry problems, strengthening math skills, improving reading comprehension, or preparing for an exam, I break complex topics into simple, manageable steps and encourage active participation throughout the session.
A typical lesson begins with reviewing questions and challenging concepts, followed by targeted instruction and guided practice. As students gain confidence, I gradually encourage them to solve problems independently while providing support and feedback. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
I work with elementary, middle, high, and college students in reading, math, biology, chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and health sciences. My combination of classroom teaching experience, tutoring experience, and strong science background allows me to connect with students at many different levels and help them achieve their academic goals.
