Hi, my name is Leah Sernas! I have homeschooled my children for 14 years, tutored other children since 2015, and worked as a Classical Conversations director in communities of elementary and high school-aged children. I have also worked as a 3rd grade teacher and now as a Socratic Guide at an Acton School. I love teaching using Socratic questioning and dialogue. I want to support learners in their self-discovery as well as their appreciation of the world before and around them. I always welcome feedback from both the learner and the parents.
I have a BA in English from Cornell University (Ithaca, NY) and an MA in Liberal Arts from St. John's College (Annapolis, MD).

Leah is a thoughtful and caring tutor who values her students as fellow learners and seeks to help them succeed and want to succeed. She is smart and her curiosity for learning pours over into her students. With my own children, she brought an excitement to learning. Leah was my tutor as I completed my last three years of high school under a classical homeschool education. I couldnt recommend her enough. She brings a robust wealth of knowledge to her job, asking insightful questions while deconstructing complicated topics into simple concepts.
