Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before our first meeting, I always speak with my students (or their parents) on the phone so I can understand what their needs are and how I can help. Once we set a date and time, I meet with my student either via Zoom or in person, typically in the comfort of their home. Due to COVID-19, I always wear a mask when I tutor in-person.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an M.F.A. in Writing from Sarah Lawrence College and a B.S. in Literature from SUNY-Oneonta.
I have been teaching at the college level since 1992 and tutoring privately since 2000. I am also a journalist, having published in Woman's Day, Family Circle, Crain's New York Business, Education Update, and other publications.
