About
When I was in sixth grade I used to daydream about being a writer. Back then I didn't know it was actually something I could achieve. I thought I needed permission from someone in order to pursue what interested me.
I wrote a variety of things throughout my school years and even wrote screenplays when I lived in Los Angeles, California. That resulted in a lot of scrap paper and also great experience in writing dialogue, which is essential in character development.
Years after, I wrote and published my first book based on personal life experience. That book won an honorary mention in a book festival. I know have three published books and am working on a travelogue trilogy.
In addition to writing, I'm also trained and skilled in the principles and practices of coaching. I have communication coaching clients and I help them with confidence building, interpersonal skills, self advocacy, the art of communication and more.
My coach training is the greatest asset in helping you reach your writing goals. I will help you find ways to meet any challenges you're dealing with.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know the person's challenges and desired outcome. It's also important to know how they learn best, whether visual, auditory, kinesthetic or a combination of learning styles.
We set manageable goals designed for the student to accomplish so they feel good about meeting small goals. When we run into trouble spots, I help my students figure out what went awry and we come up with solutions to clear the way for success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I use my TEFL training to work with adults in the tech field for whom English is their second or third language. I help them understand the nuances of the English language in addition to communication skills, soft skills and mindset shifts to help them achieve their goals.
I'm a published author of three books and numerous articles on topics ranging from self-care, divorce, travel, RV maintenance and mental health.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I like to meet with students for 45 minutes and my rate for that is $30.00
How did you get started teaching?
I met someone who was TEFL certified when I was on a volunteer trip in Thailand who suggested I check out getting my certification.
I was hired by a communication coaching company to work with learners who work in the tech industry, helping them with their communication skills while I went through my TEFL training.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with adults in the 20-30 age range. Many of them identify as introverts and we work on the specific challenges introverts face when dealing with small-talk, group interactions and speaking in front of people.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I went to a parade in Las Tablas, Panama where women were dressed in these beautiful hand-stitched skirts and crisp white blouses. They wore intricate beaded headpieces and delicate gold necklaces as they danced through the streets to the vibrant music.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice for finding a teacher/coach in any topic would be to make sure you can relate to the person. You are the client buying their service. You want to make sure they understand what you need and use their skills to help you find your way toward success.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It's helpful if they know their specific challenges, what hasn't been working. We also want to know where they feel confident and successful - what topics or activities do they feel comfortable with.
Even more helpful if they know why (bored, confused, don't know where or how to start, etc.)
They also need to know what's expected of them in their class so they can work on that specific criteria with their tutor.
