Ms. P knows how to effectively guide her students into creating their own ideas but can also help in explain a concept or direction to her students in differing ways, depending on the student’s best way of learning. She breaks down what may seem like large, complex concepts into smaller ideas that relate to the student’s interests and personal experiences. She is always willing to help and goes absolutely above and beyond for her kids. I’m thankful to have her in my life and so are my grades!

Ms.P is an absolutely amazing teacher! All through out school I struggled with having a learning disability but when I had Ms. P as my senior year English teacher she made learning not only fun but made it so I could understand. I am so grateful for what she has taught me and I still use the skills she taught me to this day!

Frequently asked questions

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

My work process with a new student is first get to know them as a learner. I have them complete a little survery about their likes and dislikes in and out of school. We then will discuss their previous school year and where they struggled. I will ask them to look at past work with me so we can see where the struggle occured together.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a degree in English literature as well as Secondary Education from Stonehill College. I have my MA DESE license to teach grades 7-12. I have been teaching 9-10 grade for the past two and a half years and 12th grade for .5 years.

30-40 an hour. *negotiable

How did you get started teaching?

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in 9th grade. I continued to grow in love with the subject and work every day to make myself a better teacher.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students with: ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia, Anxiety regarding school work

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

1. Am I willing to commit time in order to show progress? 2. Is my mindset already negative (I'm just dumb I don't get it)? If so, how can we work past that? 3. Do you want to have fun while learning or have it more traditional?
